At Sera Jey Monastery in South India, the monks of Sera Jey Lawa Khangtsen were sent off with khatas, the white silk scarves offered in Tibetan tradition as a blessing for a safe journey.

Their brothers draped the scarves one after another, first on the temple steps and again beside the cars loaded with luggage. The monks you see wearing white khatas are the ones coming to America. Now they begin their travel to the United States.

On Thursday we greet the monks as they arrive in Boston, and the World Peace Tour begins!

A khata is offered with both hands and received with a bow. We hope to receive our guests the same way.

Follow the journey on the tour schedule. The World Peace Tour is organized and sponsored by Lion's Roar Dharma Center.
